This is the 1st year for the American Striper Association’s June 7th tournament at Stratford Boardwalk Marina hosted by Boat Show Direct.net 25 boats made up the tournament field which weighed some of the heaviest Striped Bass seen in the series this year. In all, 16 boats made the trip to the scales.

Team Guppie Ann was the top boat of the tournament. Captain Ben Ewing running a Suzuki powered 25 ft Contender weighed two fish 50.45 and 37 pounds. This represented the 1st and 3rd largest fish weighed at the ASA event. Captain Ewing’s total earnings were $4130.
Second place was Captain Wade Callander running a Suzuki powered 23 ft Sea Craft weighing a 38.95 and 32.9 pound striper. Wade had the 2nd heaviest fish of the tournament winning $1670.
3rd place with fish weighing 35.15 and 36.10 went to Captain Greg Nunn on Team Hapi Daze running a Mercury powered 32 ft Fountain winning $750.
4th place was Team Out Of Line; Captained by Paul Parzych running an Evinrude powered 21 ft Sea Swirl. They weighed two fish of 26 and 30.70 pounds winning $635.
5th place went to Captain Donna Speaks of Team Dream Catcher brought in two fish weighing 27.25 and 24.20. Donna also took home the Lady Angler of the tournament honors and $600. Donna runs a Yamaha powered 25 ft Cape Horn.
Rounding out the top ten were Captain John Frione of Team Tara Anne with a two fish total of 50.50 winning $375. Captain Dave Nova with Team Marlin Maniac with a two fish 44.95 total winning $250. Captain Jerry Harris of Team Handyman with a two fish 35.70 total winning $225. Dave Schunke on Team Insufishent Funds 38 with a two fish 34.80 pound total winning $200. And Captain Anthony Grassi on Team Comstock Regulator with a two fish 34.80 total winning $175.
Captain Steven Higgs on Team Seeteufel running a Mercury powered 20 ft Aquasport won the 26 and under category winning $500. ASA member Doug Baker of Team Total Chaos took home the Bunker Award trophy and $150 for having the lowest total in the tournament of 8.6lbs.
